Chiropractic adjustment

Postby kaka » Sat Mar 19, 2011 11:03 pm

Anyone has experience to share?

My DD has been walking with a very bad posture and getting worse. When we passed by Vivocity last week, Chiropractic First was having a road show and I got her examined. In last two days, we went to the clinic for consultation and first adjustment. We have to decide now if we are able to follow through the adjustments, which is going to be 2x per week for the next 2-3 months during the intensive phase.

My dd is 11. The first adjustment was done yesterday but we have yet to commit to a package. She said she felt more flexible after the adjustment. Her posture problem is that she walks with a hunch which is getting worse. The chiropractor pointed out that one side of the shoulder is higher than the other, also the pelvin bone is tilted. I can see some improvement in the way she walked yesterday, but she was back to previous posture today.

The one I went is called Chiropractic First. During the road show I paid $75 for consultation and first adjustment, thereafter the rates $75 per adjustment for adult unless you sign package. I was told walk-in rate is $150. I suggest you go to their road show for a complimentary check and talk to the chiropractor.

Hi

Did your dd go for the school health check already? My dd was detected scoliosis for her curve spine during the recent health chk.. have went to the specialist as well as to chiropractor for 2nd opinion for the non-invasive treatment..

As u said, it's the time committment (2-3x a week) for 3 months.. and go for review after 3 mths.. however i'm not sure when can we 'stop' the pgm.. dd is also 11.. and at her growing stage, hence it will be at least 2-3years until they are 'matured' (for the bone)..

In the end, i have decided for her to go for the brace :( which i hope will help her control her curve..

Do update if on her chiropractic treatment.. actually that was my 1st option.. but the time committment and cost is really tough :(

Hi hsm
The health check was done yesterday and my dd said it was ok. :?
May be I should get 2nd opinion.
Did the school recommend your dd to see an orthopedic specialist or chiropractor?

Hi Shoe,
How long did you try? The chiropractor told me that regular adjustment for the initial 3 months is needed for effect to last and for the muscle to be strong again.
