Dear all,

I am coming 7.5 months pregnancy. And my boss asked me to visit our client in senai, jb. It's about 2 hrs driving. What do u think? Will it be very tiring?

Asked my gynae last week, he said it's fine but must put on the seatbelt. Well...according to my colleague, the road in senai is pretty bumpy...

Any advises?

Thanks

if no choice, guess you have to go. but i am surprised boss asked you to go taking into account your pregnancy and though it is just a 2 hr trip, should anything happen who is to take responsibility.

just be a bit more alert when you are in jb (be it on the road, in car or in building).

by the way, are you going alone or with boss?

Initially I am fine with that, since when my colleague said the road is pretty bumpy, I feel uncomfortable.

Going with my boss and 2 colleagues....will be taking taxi from spore to senai.

My tummy obviously looks big, ppl will notice I am pregnant :)

I think if you are uncomfortable, then you shouldn't go.

Listen to your instincts. Your health and baby should take priority.

I've travelled to JB before when I was about 7.5 months pregnant. But the roads were fine and dh was driving. I think it's not so much a case about whether the customs officers will let u enter the country. At almost 8 months and going in by taxi, and on a bumpy road no less, personally I'm not so sure if it's a good idea.

I agree with Autumnbronze, listen to your instincts, and if you feel uncomfortable, better not to go.

oh, i thought only you are in charge of this account that's why so advanced in your pregnancy, boss also needs you to go.

since boss and 2 other colleagues are going, might as well ask to be excused. take taxi :? what if something happen, where to find taxi.

if suay suay, boss is trying to find trouble (not new since there are cases of women losing jobs just before due date) better make sure you are well protected on all sides in term of compensation etc.

job is important but 2 lives (you and baby) more important.

even if dr said can travel, tell dr you take his advice and if anything happen, he is to be held responsible, haha :D dr will definitely give letter of excuse not to travel immediately. poor dr :D

Ya, am trying find an excuse now. Since my colleague went there before, I'll take his advise.
Am doing more projects with this client, that's why my boss asked me to go.

However, I m not uncomfortable with bumpy road. And you are right, somemore take taxi. Really find excuse on this.

Thanks all for all advises :)

Would your gynae be willing to issue an excuse chit? A doctor's word carries more weight. Since it is a official medical excuse chit, your boss also cant say no or find fault.

You will also be delivering soon. Even if there will be more projects coming up with this particular client, someone else will be covering your duties during your confinement period. Your boss might as well get someone else to take up this project now rather than you handing over to someone else later.

I just spoke with my boss that I won't be able to go as the road is quite bumpy. Hooray.....she's fine! My colleague will replace me instead.

Initially I was fine to go to jb. But when my colleague told me abt the road, I felt hesitate. He went there before, so he knew the condition

*happy* :D
