Hi,

Appreciate any feedback on mattress which provides v.good back support ( & px if possible). DH & I have both contributed to the over-straining of our Four Star mattress over the yrs & have q. regular back pains nowadays. Went down to Robinsons today & was recommended one Simmons mattress ($3K plus) & the other, King Koil ($2K plus), both Queen size.

Any feedback on these 2 brands? Or any other good brands?

Thanks.

Even the same brand has different models. Price range can be very wide. People have different preference as well. Some like soft, some like hard. The question is whether you feel comfortable when lying on that bed. If you buy at robinson, can wait for their sales.

It's precisely becos Robinsons is having their sales now .... so want to make use of the opportunity if suitable.

We are looking for a gd support mattress - so soft mattresses are definitely out for us. Gd back care support is what we're looking for.

The Simmons model is something called Back4...

QuiteKSMum,

We've used Kingkoil and then Simmons. Our Simmons has been with us for >10 years. We are loyal Simmons users now. I am also looking at the Robinsons sales to replace our Simmons mattress.

We bought the Backcare3 for my in-laws.
Backcare4 is the hardest of the backsupport. I don't know if it will be too hard for you. Don't be shy and just take your time to test our the mattress at the store.

The Simmons backcare support is really good. Go for it !

p/s: I am not in any way related to Simmons ! LOL !

Hi pixiedust,

Thanks for yr feedback! Tried both the Back3 & 4 today & personally prefer the 4. But yet to go down with DH to try ( he's the heavy weight on our bed).

So where did u get all yr Simmons? Robinsons or elsewhere? Robinsons mattress sale till this Sun (the Back4 quoted px is abt $3400 plus, I think, after all the discounts - with a mattress protector & 2 pillows thrown in).

Ours bought >10years ago was bought from their IMM showroom.
I think the Robinsons promo plus the discounts, card members points etc is quite good.

DH also thinking of using backcare 4 for our replacement.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually was just calculating, if costs abt $3k plus, if used even for 10 yrs, per yr depreciation = $340, per person per day = 47cts. Not such a bad deal afterall .... might be a small px to get rid of those killing back-pains.

Yes...ours more than 10 years already but look so brand new!! Dress it up, put a mattress cover over it then put bed sheet, same for the pillows...then they look brand new all the time.

Oh just a note: sleeping no backache but changing the bed sheets may give you some backache cos it is very heavy to lift up.
