Hi, DD is in P5 this year, most perm tooth are out, now left with molars. Her four front teeth are typically crooked. I checked with dental clinic in KKH (so happened went there for my so n’s teeth due to small injury), and mentioned if parents had overcrowding of teeth, kids might follow suit.

Wondering any good orthodontist to recommend around Sengkang/ Punggol/ NE line area? Nearer to home is easier as mentioned by doc, the checkups are on a monthly basis..

Thanks!
I also asked my P5 son’s dentist (at Unity Denticare) similar qns during his regular checkups...she told me don’t be so anxious to do braces. Must wait for all the baby teeth to fall out first, and for the full set of permanent teeth to grow in. Which is typically teenage years. Not primary school. Only then, can they make a proper assessment whether there’s overcrowding or not.

Yes, I had overcrowding of teeth myself & had braces done during teenage years. Son’s teeth take after mine, tightly packed together. They are getting less crooked as the jaw widens with puberty though. So u may want to monitor first. Not that urgent.

Hi all, I need some advice on crowning a tooth.
Is it safe?
Any risks or implications involved?
How do the crown get fixed in the mouth?
What is the cost?
Anyone has experience to share.

:thankyou:

Seeking advice for overbite. Traditional braces or Invasalign? If traditional braces, any feedback about National Dental Institute?

Do you mean the National Dental Center? My friend’s child did the braces at NDC. Now done. All ok. What feedbsck are you looking for, like which aspect?

You can try out Prof Yeo from omfs @ farrer park. He is an oral maxillofacial surgeon and specialist. Very experienced and professional. He does dental implants, and they even have the facility to do it under GA if need be. So was quite reassuring to know that for me as if there is any complication, I don't have to change dentist. All can be done there.

You can check out their website: https://www.omfs.com.sg/dental-implant

Hi, my 16 yo is advised to have braces. Problem incl overcrowding & gap in front teeth. Dentist recommended Dr Poon from Twin City at Ngee Ann City. Was told that the cost will be $1.5k for braces, but every month will have to go for tightening and cost $200/mo for about 2 years. Wondering if the fee is considered high or the norm? Any suggestion for affordable but good Orthodontist for teen braces? Thanks!

Sounds more or less there. The cheapest I know was a neighbourhood orthodontist clinic, about $4k total. Considering the location at orchard, $6-10 seems norm.
