Hi

My friend just discovered that her house was infested with fleas. Not sure how it started as she does not have any pets at home. She was asking for advices as she's afraid that pest controllers will use very strong chemicals to eliminate all these fleas (her concern is she has young children at home and one of them has nose allergy). Pls share.

Fleas breed very fast if left unchecked. Have to keep vacuuming to get rid of both insects and eggs. After vacuuming have to dispose dirt collected straightaway and not leave in dustbag. Or best to use a bagless vacuum cleaner and wash the dust container with soap.

Change bedsheets often and wash them preferably with hot water or dry in dryers. The high temperature in dryer should kill them.

Check out which are the places most heavily infested. These are the places where you are most likely to get bitten on ankles when just walking past. Keep cleaning those places.

Understand that have to vacuum the furnitures and sofa as well, right ? Is there any insecticides that she can use?
