Yoga, For Weight Loss.

Yoga is very useful exercise. It keeps maintain your body, losing weight,reduces stress. Yoga is a helpful to health you will find that your sleep will improve, and that you may even need less time to sleep as your rejuvenation level.

Bikram hot yoga is my favourite type so far. Been doing yoga for just over a year (leisurely) Would definitely say it does helps improve my overall health and keeps me energize and fresh!

For classical yoga, I recommend Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Singapore at Bukit Pasoh. I like the place because it is not a studio but a proper ashram. The Qi of the place is better since it is used purely for yoga and also the teachers are very devoted to the practice and teachings.

I also recommend you read Deepak Chopra's Seven Spiritual Law of Yoga to have some understanding of yogic science. Doing yoga for losing weight is a good start. As you go along, you'll find that the benefits you gain is much much more than that (if it is done holistically).

Happened to chance upon your post regarding the book and decided to get a copy. Thanks for the recommendation. Found Chopra's philosophy insightful and an interesting read.

Decided to pick up yoga again. No signs of weight loss :gloomy: :skeptical: but at least feel less achy all over.

Weight loss... how about 16 rounds of rapid sun salutation a day, sure to sweat.

16 rounds :yikes: :faint:

Just started recently, so am only managing 6 sets of sun 3x a week ... :sweat:
Looks like I need to work harder!! :sweat: :sweat:

Do you practice everyday and how long are your sessions? Can share please? :please:

A bit hard to describe as there are many poses involved. Can go online or youtube to get an idea.

If u are a beginner, best to sign up with a class so that the yoga teacher is able to guide you and correct your postures.
