Movement difficulties, delayed motor skills

Hi there,

I was wondering if there are any parents out there with kids aged below 10 who have movement difficulties or delayed motor skills (gross and fine)?

And if yes, where do you go for therapy?

Are there other alternatives besides going to the physio or OT?

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Thank you. :)

There are many places for OT, but whether they are affordable places is a different question altogether.

Besides OT and physio, the third alternative is home support - parent-supervised and selected activities by private vendors aimed at achieving the same aim as the OT. A good OT will often suggest home activities. A parent can follow up on this concientiously.

For gross, bilateral coordination and balance, we did gym, TKD, swimming.
For fine, my child needed to build up finger strength and he was very resistant to any therapy. So I sent him for piano classes with a teacher he liked and he has to practice on a heavy keyboard. Seems to help.
