Maybe you could see Dr. Ong Eng Keow(pediatrician) from International Child & Adolescent Clinic also at Mt. Alvernia . There is also another doctor Dr. Vella at the same clinic -old man but quiet experienced. They can refer you to a good ENT specilaist if there is a need.

There are 2 ENT specialist - Dr Ranjit and Dr. Sim at Mt Alvernia itself. But I got referral from Dr. Ong . My girl always had a ear infection due to accumulated ear wax. I rather see pediatrician first.

My reply might be a bit late as I just saw this post. My daughter has sinus ( blocked nose ) since small. I chanced upon an ENT specialist at Mt Elizabeth, Dr Goh Yau Hong. A very very kind and gentle doctor who adores children. My daughter has been very comfortable with him and last year ( when her condition worsen at age 12 ) we decided to go ahead with the surgery ( radiofrequency to reduce her turbinates at his clinic). She can breath very well now. This is the link http://www.entoms.com/eng/profile_abtDoctor.html

Hi,
My daughter does not have headache. Initially when she was smaller, she has blocked nose for one month, about 3 to 4 episodes per year. But we still can manage as she still cope with dripping Illiadin ( nose drip ). She sometimes clear up after taking chinese medicine. Then all of a sudden when she was at her end of Pr 5, she has blocked nose everyday! We tried many ways as we tried to avoid surgery, which my husband had a few years earlier with not very good results ( I blamed it on his bad eating habits, where he consumed large qty of milk, nuts which he is allergic to ). My husband told me it was painful....so it freaked me out.
BUT my daughter did not move a muscle during the surgery ( done at clinic about 10 mins in all). So I think either the technique has been improved or her she can " ta han" better, ha ha.
Anyway, we were moved to tears at the clinic because she can breathe IMMEDIATELY. I almost wanted to kneel down at the doctor, our saviour!

My daughter said the pain is bearable, she worth going through the surgery. I would like to remind parents that the nose drip like Illiadin cannot be used long term, it will cleared your blocked nose but will caused blocked nose if use in the long term. Also, see ENT specialist, not neighbourhood doctor. When my daughter couldn't breath, she hyperventilated and go into mild fit and passed out several times, my GP only prescribed " relax pill" which I gave her when she hyper ventilate, but the doctor never mention to me about the side effect, in fact she experience great hair loss few weeks later. When I show the ENT specialist, he told me never to let her eat again.
After the surgery ( radio frequency ), u still need to go back to the ENT to wash out the mucus ( expect a lot of it) for about 1 month, once a week. Daily washing of nose is a must to clear out mucus.

Hi,

Hope I'm not too late....

Someone already mentioned that there were two ENT specialists at Mt. Alvernia.

The one I know is Dr. Sim. If you need his contact details, perhaps you would want to chat with him first over e-mail or phone, just let me know.
