Dear Parents,
Brought my 4 yr old son to see Dr Kenny Pang from Pacific Sleep Centre at Paragon. Dr has recommended to remove his tonsils, adenoids and sinus turbinate surgery for my boy. Not sure if we should seek 2nd opinion. Anyone has any feedback on Dr Kenny or any good ENT to recommend?

regards

From my own experience, it is necessary to get a second opinion to see if the 2nd Dr has the same advice...Sometime, it turns out that the 2nd opinion is totally different from the first Doctor and I see that quite often as well!
I would recommend Dr CT Chew (Mt Elizabeth)....I have seen him and also a few other ENTs before, and find Dr Chew to be a very good ENT.

Hope all goes well for your boy..

You are welcome......do get a second opinion for your boy especially since it involves surgery!

Best wishes!

Please seek a second opinion as your boy is still young and better to be sure..

In fact my PD has recommended another ENT at Mt A, Dr Foo Toon Hiong, Muswell ENT Specialist Centre. Will be going to seek a 2nd opinion.

Hi eyeozz, I came across this forum topic as Dr Kenny Pang has recently recommended all those procedures for my child as well. I'm really not sure about it as it sounds drastic. What did you do in the end, after the second opinion?

Hi,
We went to see Dr Foo at Mt A and decided to proceed with Dr Kenny's recommendation. It seems to us that Dr Kenny's clinic is very much well equiped with up to date equipments. My boy went thru the surgery and Dr Kenny has done a good job. Just that we opted stay 1 night in Mt E instead of doing a day surgery as my boy is still very young... the hospital bill came up almost 12K inclusive of surgeon fee (but of course Dr Kenny's fee was within what he had quoted)! My boy is still under review by Dr Kenny, so far he has been recovering well.

regards

Also consider Dr Andrew Loy from Mt Elizabeth. Technically very sound as a surgeon and is good with children during consultations.

Thanks for all the replies.

I checked with some doctor friends and decided to get a second opinion from another ENT specialist (at the new Mt E Novena). Am now using a nasal spray he prescribed. So far it seems to resolve the problem.

Am glad I took a second opinion.
