Cure Gastic: Eat Banana

Postby dido » Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:50 pm

Hi,

Here is a cure for those who are suffering from gastric.

Simply eat 2 bananas (not those Delmonte).

Try and share your experience.

It always work for me. Don't eat more than 2, you
may suffer from constipation.

Cheers
Dido

Hi dido, thanks for sharing. I'm curious...I know gastric is due to not eating for a prolonged period, but I've also heard that we're not supposed to eat bananas with an empty stomach (can't remember why, heard from some healthcare/TCM? talk). So am quite confused here as to why/how eating bananas can cure gastric? :?

I don't have gastric issues, but am thinking of skipping lunch for slimming/lazy reasons. Is taking a full breakfast an alternative to safely skiplunch without gastric consequence?
Please don't ask me to eat salad - i don't feast of grassy greens though my zodiac sign is otherwise.

If you are planning to skip lunch due to whatever reasons, I would
suggest that you have a "full" breakfast. It is not a 100% guaranteed
preventive measure for gastric but it certainly reduces the risk of getting
one.

Studies have shown that people who skip breakfast tend to eat more
during lunch - hence gaining more weight in the process as compared to
those who have a hearty breakfast and skipping lunch..

If you dont eat grassy greens, you may wanna try fruit salads for lunch..
Alternatively, muesli bars with low fat or yoghurt should do the trick to
curb the hunger pangs and sugar cravings..

for slimming, I find that skipping carbs works. Someone I know slimmed down a lot after eliminating carbs.

But it's not recommended for the long run cos your body is burning proteins/fats - not efficient and produces more toxins. My take is to eat some carbs, just lesser.

sashimi will take very full breakfasts, fruits for lunch, then moderate dinner (heavy dinner if eating out once in a while). It works for him but not for me cos I'll be hungry by 3-4pm and I don't get to eat dinner till 8pm usually.

P.S. I have a high metabolic rate while his is much lower.

That's interesting. I might want to try that if the pills doesn't work. I only suffer from gastric when I am faced with extreme work stress. Usually need to pop the gastric pills and must at least try to sleep it off. I'll try the banana if the gastric strikes again.

Yupp.. reducing carbs definately works for slimming..

Asians generally tend to consume more carbs as part of our daily diet.

Perhaps minimising our daily rice intake and switching to other sources of carbs ie: bread or noodles may help a little.
