hi

jus wondering whether anyone of you have enough sleep, esp after your kids go to morning session? my sleep's being getting lesser and lesser since kids start attending morning session.

i have no maid no helper and no car, n i m working fulltime. so every nite after my kids have gone to bed, i will do min housework (handwash/machwash). everyday i hv between 6-7 hours of sleep. not juz me and spouse, even my kids suffer from lack of sleep coz they wake up b4 6am and sch bus fetches juz after 6.

i tink my work is affected somehow or another though not very serious, coz i stay awake drinking tea twice a day. can't think of a better solution to stay alert.

do you have any suggestion or solution?

Due to heavy workload, stress and tension most of the human beings are suffered from lack of sleep that may cause to "Insomnia" a disease that cause due to lack of sleep. So to avoid such symptoms we need a complete 8 hour sleep.

how about engaging a part time helper that perhaps come to help in the housework with alternate weeks' frequency?

My colleagues who have kids, work etc to handle said
- they sleep at around 10pm, wake up at about 3am to work and do everything they need to till the next day's 10pm.

Around 11pm- 2pm is the time when the liver does detoxifying.
If this is taken care of, the body is less likely to break down.

Also, spending about 20mins per day for meditation really helps a lot.
(I have chronic fatigue and this had been helpful.)

Hope it's of some help to you.

I hv enough sleep go function well - work, manage the house chores, care for my kid, think etc. But I don't have enough sleep to be optimal - I find my level of concentration and memory not as good as before having kid. My reflex is also slower (but maybe due to age). And I find myself less tolerance and patience toward life as a whole.

I have been suffering from the worst issues of "insomnia" due to lack of enough sleep and I must say that a human being need sufficient sleep to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Lack of sleep may brings several risk of worst diseases such as memory loss, dark eye circle and many more.

I read something about "earthing" products.
Anyone tried it before? Any feedbacks?

I am up at about 5.30am and go to bed about midnight. I should sleep more but unable to. If I try to sleep earlier, I will be wide awake at 3am. And if I sleep more, I end up feeling very lethargic and heavy headed. So weekdays, 5-5.5hrs sleep, weekend I try to get about 1hr more sleep.

Guess I am one of those who function on very little sleep. Even as kid, my mum told me, I sleep very little.

7-8 hours of sleep is sufficient for healthy adults. However, you will need more rest if you are unwell. If you are getting only 6 - 6.5 hours of sleep, try to make it up by getting extra sleep over the weekend.

Personally, I have insomnia & I have 4 - 5 hours of sleep everyday. Being a SAHM, I stay up late till 12 midnight to supervise my P2 girl on her homework. She is a slow worker & unable to focus. She is still in the afternoon session & can afford to wake up late. I wake up at 6 am to prepare breakfast for my elder son who is in the morning session.

I also having difficulties to get to sleep & tossing on the bed & counting sheeps are common for me. I will wake up in the middle of night for a couple of time. I even asked doctor to prescribe sleeping pills to help me to sleep. My friend has warned me on the side effects & I have stopped taking it for quite a while.

Lack of sleep for a prolong period can lead to heart disease & high cholesterol.

I take Melatonin for jet-lag and sleepless nights.

If I have hectic day brain too active, I will take much longer to fall asleep. So far, I managed to sleep 6.5 to 7 hrs daily.

A strange thing is, since 2+ years ago if I watch horror movies at night, I won't be able to sleep :nailbite: can stay wide awake till morning :faint:
