9-year-old girl puberty: hair growth

My DD is nine and is showing signs of puberty. One of those signs is hair growth. She has always had lots of hair on her body since she was born, especially on her back. With the onset of puberty, we are worried that the hair growth will intensify. She has always been conscious of the hair and she refuses to wear dresses/tops with a low back or with spaghetti straps.

Can anyone share if it's possible to do hair removal for a nine-year-old?

Waxing is tedious and painful, can imagine the hot wax on the back and the repeat peeling-off. :faint: Heard that IPL (Intense Pulse Light) can remove unwanted body hair permanently, but whether is ok to administer to a young child you have to consult a dermatologist.

9 years old is a bit early for puberty? Not sure how true is it, heard friends said avoid eating too much poultry, especially chicken; because they are often inject / feed with growth hormone to accelerate the growing process, heard each chicken takes only 40 days to grow to a marketable size :yikes:

Thanks for this reply Harlequin. I tried waxing my legs once so I know how painful it is. No, I wouldn't want to try that on my daughter. I was thinking of other less harrowing treatments, like creams or even shaving. But I don't know what's safe or recommended for girls this age. Besides, my daughter has sensitive skin, so that's another concern too when it comes to treatments like these.

I don't know about 9 years old being a bit early for puberty. She does enjoy eating chicken and other types of meat like beef, mutton, crab, fish, prawns. She also enjoys vegetables, rice, noodles. She doesn't overeat, though. She's not obese. Her BMI is within normal range, so is her weight.
