Is anyone taking glucosamine supplements for painful knees? Please
advise which brand you are taking. There are so many brands in the market and I wonder which is better. Thanks.

If the condition is painful, taking glucosamine on its own is not effective. Try Glucosamine with chondroitin sulfate. When pain is gone then continue with glucosamine for maintenance. But if theres swelling or redness that comes with the pain, hv to seek medical attention, its an indication of acute inflammation.

There is no medical proof that glucosamine works, but many people says it works for them. So YMMV.

Since it is not considered a drug, it is not tested and hence there may be sub-standard brands out there. If in doubt, go for the bigger brands.

GNC is common (e.g. Triplex) but it is much cheaper to mail order from US.

I had some knee problems 2yrs ago and my chiro recommended taking Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM plus Vit C.

I took GNC Triflex which has these 3 components plus C1000 also from GNC

Now no more knee problems.

Taking care of the knee is more than just taking glucosamine. You would want to take care of the bones and muscles as well. So to overall take care of it, it means lots of rest, theraphy and on top of taking glucosamine, take calcium magnisium and protein powder as well.
