sorry, little patrick, never tried that. But think that iron tablets may be a little too young for a child right? How old is DS?

Would you try iron-rich foods? My kids don't take liver (I remember chicken liver porridge when I was younger! And with fondness too) but green leafy vegetables like bayam, kailan and kao kee chye are rich in iron. That is if he  s veges!

May want to try out GNC/Nature's Farm too.

Did the doctor prescribe any supplements? I would think iron from food sources is better than supplements. You can try Chinese spinach and spinach or increase red meat consumption.

Btw did you test for thalassemia?

Please get the supplement from the PD. It'll be in the form of iron drops (liquid). DO NOT GET FROM OUTSIDE UNLESS YOUR DOCTOR APPROVES OF THE PRODUCT YOU ARE GIVING!

Does your son take beef?Beef soup is the best to increase the iron level.Try not to give supplement without prescription.

I like to give an egg (hard-boiled, or half-boiled) to my dd daily. Also, she likes the spinach pizza by Dr. Oetker (made in Germany) which is a good source of iron too.

Supplement is a last resort for me.
