Mosquito killer/zapper recommendations?

Postby ChiefKiasu » Mon Jun 30, 2014 4:48 pm

OK... it's time to take revenge on the mozzies which gave me and my daughter dengue fever a couple of weeks back. I stay on the ground floor, so there's no escaping the mozzies even though I have mosquito netting for all my windows. I'm now thinking of investing in some mosquito killers, ie. those with UV light and electricity, etc.

Does anyone have any recommendation?

That's an expensive piece. Do you have it?

I just bought this @ $64. It's ugly but it seems quite effective based on the reviews I read.

I read that mozzies are too small to be zapped by such zapper.

These are not zappers. They are supposed to attract the mozzies using the UV light and CO2 and then keep them trapped inside until they die. No spark or sound. Not so satisfying :)

It must have been really thrilling for you to go to SAF cookhouse!!

Btw, it generates CO2?

I have one of those "tennis racquet" electric zappers. Yeah... the spark and zap sound is quite satisfying  . Those army cookhouse zappers I never hear them at all. I don't think they work so well.

Yes, the UV light thingy I bought is supposed to create some kind of molecules emulating human CO2 to make itself irresistible to mozzies. Rocket science to me. Again, let me test and report in a week's time if I managed to catch any mozzie.

Wah... my new mozzie trap is not bad. Left it on overnight and it trapped like 2 mozzies and 4-5 small little insects already. Woohoo.
