No supplements for my son - just vitamin C and fresh fruits and juices everyday.
Fresh fruits and juices are always a great idea! Adding vegetables during meal time too..

In the 21st century through massive plant vegetation and environmental pollution, u can get sufficient dietary fibre but definitely not sufficient nutrients in the plants and fruits we consume . This is true based on scientific studies done by clinical scientists

I have been selling supplements for many years. Children are very sensitive to supplements and especially if a supplement like fish oil capsule smells bad. Its really bad then. I have worl with a few children whom I sell fish oil supplements to. These children said that when their daddy or muumy buys the fish oil supplements, some brands can be very plastic and bad odor. So I recommended my brand and a very cute young boy says it has no smell, looks cool cos the colour is bright orangy, so he says he can accept bright colours and that he even chew on the capsule and has no problems consuming it.

Back in the old days , even until now , people do allow their children to take cod-liver oil. I mean 30 years ago , technology wasn't so advanced and cod-liver oil was the best option. However, I realised when studying food science in Australia, u need to first understand what is liver. Liver is a detoxifying organ so when using fish liver and purifying it whilst extrating the oil from a detoxifying organ to be given to children. I don't see a logic behind it. Whereas omega fatty acids brings down body inflammation of the body improving health

Therefore, if parents are looking for fish oil supplements, feel free to consult me or PM me ;0)
Is fish oil better than Vit C?
I wouldn’t say fish oil is better than Vit C because every nutrient is needed for a human body to function properly and efficiently. It’s bit about which nutrient is better than other nutrient(s) . What I am trying to advocate is the synergistic effects of all essential nutrients needed by the body. Every nutrient has its own unique functions and they simply do not work alone

Nowadays people pick and choose individual nutrient fir supplementation but neglect the fact that both minerals, vitamins and photochemical which is plant nutrients work synergistically to make the body function well.

Take for instance people choose Vitamin C because even if one gives excess Vit C to children it’s ok . U know why, because Vit C is water-soluble so even if consume in excess , the excess Vit C will just be excreted out of the body thru urine. But not fat-soluble vitamin like vitamin D which is needed by the body to also help calcium to be absorbed into the bones because Vitamin D if eaten in excess is toxic to the body 😁

I remember I took lots of those cod liver oil while I am young, but can't remember whether it is effective or not. Actually the smell and taste is ok after you get used to it.

I'm not into supplements. What we are doing is being picky with our foods intake.
We make sure that we eat vegetables and fruits. Also, we limit our meat and alcohol intake.
Its just nice because the baby in the house who is 1 year old loves eating steamed broccoli xp

Actually i'm like that with my kids and myself too. Feel like it's too young to start them on supplements, might be taxing on the liver.

Children are quite picky eaters and sometimes won't eat their fruits and veggies no matter how hard we try to mask/hide them in foods they are willing to eat. I find it especially so when it comes to fish oil as the fishy smell is very off-putting for them, or the giant size is a bit difficult for their smaller throats to swallow.

So how to get DHA and all the other natural goodness into them if they refuse to eat the foods that contain them?
- Vitamin jellies and gummies

These are such a blessing that my younger nephew and nieces look forward to eating them as treats after meals. It made a lot of sense in hindsight. Why mask in meals when you can mask in children's snacks? I gift my friends and family a box from time to time if there's a sale.

I'd recommend these:
- DHA Jellies

- Immune Jellies

- Elderberry Gummies
https://shopee.sg/Nature's-Essentials%E ... 8a420ac6f9
- Multivite Gummies

My sister likes to take the gummies with her children as a fun parent/child bonding time.

It all depends on the purpose for which you want to start taking supplements. One of the most essential for athletes is omega 3, a source of immunity and healthy hair, skin, and nails. It is also important to drink calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin complexes containing testosterone, which is the Health Canal for gaining muscle mass. In addition, it has been proven that testosterone is actively involved in the work of the central nervous system, hematopoietic and urinary, and cardiovascular systems. That is why he was called the king of all hormones.

My DD only takes Cod liver oil - orange flavored and probiotics alternate days.

Even she is turning 6, majority of her meals do not contain salt, mostly is steamed or boiled. Meat/poultry for lunch and fish for dinner. Every meal will have veggies, she loves cauliflower and broccoli,

I prepared my own home boiled broth though - in pork, chicken and beef so there’s varieties. The broth are simmered 6-8 hours, chilled and filtered then pack in freezer, really convenient!
