What age for contact lenses

Hi
Like to check at what age does your child wear contact lenses? is it better to get the disposable ones?
Any advice/ info is appreciated.

My DD wore disposables at 10 years old for dance performances. Unless you can put them on and remove them for child ( I couldn't do it well!), it's best that you start them on it, only if they can handle putting lens on and removing them, themselves comfortably.
Cleanliness is paramount when handling the lens. So as a start may want to use disposables. If permanent ones, until child can clean them well, parent may have to do so for them to ensure no infection etc.

nope is really at 3yrs old.
The contact lens is custom made for her.

Wow! She started using contact lenses at 3yo!
DD's been asking for it. Told her she'll get them when vision stabilizes.

Wow. That must be scary for the parents. I don't think I can get my kids to put on contacts when they are in primary school, much less a 3yo kid.
How the the doctor diagnose such vision problems for children of that age? Can kids grow out of the problem eventually, given that they still have plenty of room to grow?
