Hi mummies,

where do you buy sandals for your flat-footed children and teenagers? Please give me an idea of the price and details to look out for.

Thank you!!

Ammonite,

The elder one is currently under treatment with a podiatrist.

He recommends shoes that have a good heel grip and fits in such a way that there are no gaps for the feet to move about inside when one is walking.

He recommended Tevas brand for sandals.

For school shoes, he is using Asics track shoes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, CMF and Autumnbronze!

Do you mind me asking which podiatrist you are using, AB? And where can I buy Tevas sandals for kids? I am not a shoe person, and I have no idea where to start looking! DH has been the one buying shoes for the kids all these years.

We try to keep our boy in shoes as much as possible so he can wear the insoles as often as possible. We use Adidas tennis shoes mostly.

For non covered footwear, we try to have him wear Birkenstocks as much as possible since they appear to offer the best support outside of his own insoles.

AB, haha! And thanks for checking! Will await your update.

Anfield, what is a good place to buy Birkenstock?

But I find Birkenstock uncomfortable. Everyone else in my family is happy with it. I'm the only one with flat fleet and yet can't bear Birkenstock...

Ammonite,

DH mentioned he bought the Tevas from one of the sports shops at Vivo. He thinks it was World of Sports. You can try Queensway Shopping Centre or Peninsular Plaza as well.

Trying to get the name of the clinic. It's located somewhere at Tanglin. Will get back to you again

Thank you, AB! DS has a couple of appointments to go through  , so no hurry, as and when you find the address of the podiatrist. The sandals were more immediate.
:thankyou:
