Tall for Age

DD3 has been given a referral to HPB arising from her school health screening exercise. Concern is that she is tall for her age. She is 9 yo and 151cm in height. Her BMI is within normal range.

Any parent here with similar experience in your child? What should we be expecting from the consultation?

I never take note also. May I know what is the normal range of height for a 9yo girl?

Need bone test to show actual age?

9 yo at 151cm is very tall ! Reaching the height of an adult.

I thought short is a concern but didn't know that tall is also a concern ?

ImMeeMee, is it from the family gene that your daughter is tall ?

i am short (150cm)...my parents are small sized. so daughter is just like me. son is 170cm, same height as hubby.
daughter was referred to HPB because of her height. the doctor told me as long as she grows minimum 2cm every year, she is safe. at NUH, she had x ray for bone test.
short is a problem, didn't know even tall will be referred to HPB :?

Was there any follow up required of your colleague's DD?

I am also scratching my head as to why need to refer for being tall for age. I am a bit more than 160cm and DH is slightly more than 175cm. So our genes shouldn't be out of percentile.
