If @50 and your mum or Grandma still telling you this, then I think you donch have much peace at home to begin with.CarolW wrote:If mum or Grandma tells you to avoid chicken, just do it. While it may not cure your cold, it makes for a peaceful home!
My mil is still telling me this. So when we visit them and one of them cough, we don't buy any food containing chicken for them. Otherwise, everybody still eats chicken in my household when they are coughing. I only tell DH and DS not to eat citrusy fruits and don't drink ice. If they don't listen and cough more, don't come and whine to me.Nebbermind wrote:If @50 and your mum or Grandma still telling you this, then I think you donch have much peace at home to begin with.CarolW wrote:If mum or Grandma tells you to avoid chicken, just do it. I believe that everyone has different levels of sensitivity, and it's possible that some types of cough may be more sensitive to different foods as well. But my family doesn't seem to be affected by chicken, so we don't observe that taboo when coughing. However, we do avoid citrus fruits and cold food/drinks when coughing (cold makes the windpipe contract and aggravates coughing) based on our personal experience.pokoyoko wrote:I used to believe this.
