May I ask how frequent to feed pediasure? Is there a guideline like twice a day or 3 times a day? I am keen to try as all brands of full cream milk were rejected... she’s not fussy but eats way too little. Sometimes I still have to feed, as feeding means she eats more.
I've heard from others that prolonging pediasure can make it harder to get the child to eat normally as it's so calorie-rich that the child isn't hungry. Some kids just have smaller appetites. Some kids are just small. Have your tried letting her be hungry for a day? I know some kids seem impervious to hunger, but I found that letting my kids refuse a meal and go hungry till the next "cured" them of refusing meals. It only happened once for each child. I flatly refused to feed them past the age of around 2yo. If you haven't tried, maybe it's worth a go.

I got my kids to drink ordinary milk by doing a gradual transition from formula - mixing it 20/80, then 40/60, etc., over several weeks, until they were drinking full cream milk. At another stage, when milk refusal happened, I added fruit juice or a little chocolate milk to vary the milk flavours. That phase lasted less than a year before they returned to full cream milk. Again, it might be worth a try.

Shisan, two years ago, I remember you were seeking advice for your underweight son and some of us had given our tips. I think you worry too much now for your too tall DD! Just let them have a healthy diet and have lotsa sleep and exercise.

I think for a start, Zeal mummy can mix some full cream milk into the pediasure? At least that was how I transitioned my dc from formula milk to full cream milk, followed by low fat milk and now I buy oat milk. Can try feeding some children's DHA omega 3 fish oil to her diet.
Agree with slmkhoo that u can add say, 1:3 of chocolate/banana/strawberry milk : full cream milk to entice her.

Not all full cream milk are nice! Meiji's taste's out for my dc. So are Marigold full cream milk and Magnolia HL milk. So far, I only get Farmhouse fresh milk. If can't find, I get second choice Australian Marigold fresh milk or third choice Magnolia fresh milk.

Pauls and Pura are too expensive. Hokkaido milk is even more pricey, but you can buy some to try on her.

I think girls should not drink too much full cream milk anyway.

Exactly!! The irony! My son was too thin, he was put on supplements for close to a year by the endocrine doctor. She wanted to monitor but then covid came. The ENT doctor was going to suggest removal of tonsils to which I am not too keen because it is surgery for something not life-threatening. He still snores, probably has not the best quality of sleep but i think he is coping. He is still a terrible eater, although better than before, last time eat-like-bird, now lean hamster. Now doing above 25%tile so doctor is happy with his progress, and I get elated when I see him gobble a plate of rice, but he NEVER asks for more, and “hungry” still doesn’t exist in his vocabulary. But that is weight which can be controlled much more than height.

My girl though... she is way too tall. And there isn’t anything I can do to stop her from growing too fast. She eats well though, weight around 90ish % So in case there is any hormonal problem or musculoskeletal issue, hopefully it can be caught early. Or.. maybe just this generation kids growing too fast. But seems this isn’t a common issue as much as kids being too short. Other than the fact her clothes do not coincide with her age, she is as tall as my 6 yr old nephew, i just hope this is her rate of growth and nothing internal is out of whack and that she is overall healthy. She better inherit her dad’s bone health.

Is there a reason for excess full cream milk to he avoided? My daughter takes a packet as a snack daily. Is it because of the hormones in there?
When I was pregnant, doctor gave me hormone pills in the first trimester, no idea if that affected the baby’s growth

I really don’t think there is much to worry about being too tall, unless doctor has diagnosed it as gigantism. I believe many parents would have taller child than smaller ones, as smaller size children have a lot more concerns over their health.

What I would do is probably start getting her to train in basketball, netball or volleyball. A few years down the road, she will definitely be ready for DSA (likely the number one contender too).

Or high jump, long jump, fashion modeling...all these dominated by the tall girls in my secondary school lol. Long distance running also...the right physique for it.

Oh yah, maybe, can consider, provided she is suitable. She’s probably more suitable for taekwondo or wushu... very rough.

I’ll just pray she isn’t overly tall due to bone problems la. But yah; if too small then worry about chronic health issues. Too big also have their own worries.

High jump, athletics all ok. I used to run for my school before my surgery, that, she can explore.

Modelling, cannot. Let’s just say her face...she really looks like her dad....

U may want to try switching to the low fat version. Or cut the portion to the mini Disney/Frozen packet that they sell. Since u said your girl’s weight is 90%, no reason to be giving full cream milk as she is not under-nourished.

See if that has an effect on slowing her height growth.
