Let them be kids..Support them. They will eventually develop their own hobbies. Just let them explore!
totally agree

they need to receive positive reinforcement to continue..if not, they will turn to their friends who affirm them of their online gaming skills

As parents, do we have any hobbies we still pursue? Just thinking out loud, I think kids will look to their parents for cues on developing hobbies, and the best case scenario is we want them to develop good hobbies. But if we don't have any hobbies or interests that we pursue, and spend all our time on our phones/netflix, that will likely leave an impression on them as well..

instead of us "telling" them, let them play around , expose to a range, and select based on their competency
they will enjoy things that they are good in, and when they get positive feedback , this may reinforce their determination to continue.

hence, parents need to be the "cheerleaders" , and encourage them along the way
most importantly, they must also take ownership of their choice

Couldn't agree more, let them be kids and all else will follow. :imcool:

Let them explore more to things that make them happy, always be there to guide them to the right path

The most important part is to ask them, they need to be interested in something

besides having them be interested... it is good to engage them with resourceful mentors or in some cases, teachers.

Engaging them to the right activities that's good for them can also help them in figuring out the best hobby for them
