How old are your kids and are they boy and girl? From what you know of them, what are their interests and personality? You need to narrow down a bit and try to interest them in the most probable hobbies which suit.

Its not that they dont have interest at anything..every child has its own capabilities to do something.. its just that they still dont know what's their real passion are.. give him/her more time to discover it.. or maybe theres something in her/his environment or social life that affects his/her self steem..

I just let my kids explore different activities, and see which one they seem to really like and stick with, sometimes they drift in and out of different activities, and I admit, it does get annoying at times, but I rather let them explore instead of forcing them to stick to one, yea just give them time, hopefully soon, they would find their hobby!

best way is to follow their inclination i suppose... true passion will drive consistent sustained interest.

Try going into different categories, like sports or arts (in the term of crafts) or performing arts! I'm sure they would stick to and love one of the activities and can take up as a hobby!

I think you could talk to her and ask her what she really likes and let her explore to a wide variety of activities available :)

Its based on their character. Each kid have different abilities. Almost after 5 they will find their own hobby. Don't restrict them and say don't do this ,that and all. Let them find their own. Only give them right tips if they are on wrong path.

All children have different choices and different hobbies. You cannot force them anything regarding hobbies. All you can do is make out what things they like to do or are interested in and then motivate them to do something in that field.

How come the 'head' got chopped off this thread? I was surprised to see myself as the originator of this thread as I only responded. I can't remember who began it though.

I was born in a family with a kiasu mother. When I was young, my mother sent me for courses ranging from Calligraphy, violin, piano, painting, swimming, wushu and a few dozen others.

It became so bad that she had to resort to physical punishment to force me to attend/excel in these "hobbies". Eventually , My dad had to step in to stop the nonsense.

I believe what's important is to understand what your kids enjoy doing and to participate with them along that journey. Be involved and genuinely enjoy the process.
