I too had thrown few pillows recently. Not sure why the whole room was feeling damp after holiday. Maybe no 'airing' or wat..

Slmkhoo, same here..I m still using my bedsheet bought abt 4 years ago..still feel ok leh..quite thick one. I try not to have extra set as need space..I always wash and dry same day. If cant air dry then use air dryer. When I was younger, more shopping trips I do keep a few sets but now no more.

Have separate dishes for diff groups of pple. Can have one or two common dishes for all
Haiya, if only some elderly are diligently watching their health & o ey doctor’s orders. I can’t do ‘separate’ dishes as this elderly gets upset as he’ll claim that occasional does not matter. I’ve to msg extended family to take queues to clear as much of soup QUICKLY & we serve only 1/2 types of fruits. No liquid content dessert.

Initially, FIL will grab last piece of whatever meat, so now told hubby & kids, I’ll be helpful aunty who’ll go dish out for everyone, giving bigger pieces to the kids & menfolk except PIL. FIL tend to take over some of MIL’s food too! :faint:
older folks becoming 'kids' now  I remember someone mentioned before when old back to babies time..diapers etc.
Yes. Hv to cajole, sweet-talk & just like kids, “don’t say direct “no” but say do sth else first.

He refused to do his permanent op for dialysis before CNY, which I gave in coz u’stand elderly wants to spend CNY first then embark in doing sth he’s not prepared to face.

Just now, was admitted to hospital again due to infection at the temporary dialysis source at his chest. Sigh. Extra busy apart fr CNY prep, hv to spend more time to process his admission. Hope he’ll be out by Thurs or Fri for Family Reunion Dinner.

I don't bother with extra cleaning - the normal will have to do. Just finished packing the red packets this morning. I realised that I haven't any CNY goodies at all! I've been coughing a lot the past 2 weeks, so have been on "survival" mode and doing the minimum. Feeling better now, so I should try to buy a couple of items at least. All our CNY is spent at other people's places, so no need to do much.
We dont change new bedsheets for cny..buy and use at ad hoc time. same celebration alot of outside home too.

More ppl coughing it seems..take care, slmkhoo!
This period must take extra care, slmkhoo. If u hv some Indian Borage or UMF Honey, take them to avert throat infection. Keep yr throat well lubricated & soothe.

Done all packing, cleaning, CNY goodies, Mandarin oranges, scallops, crabmeat, etc. Bedsheets change coming Thurs. Got all the necessary new notes for Ang Paos, but will pack only Thurs nitetime after Reunion Dinner. Ordered all fresh fishes, pork ribs, chicken fr stallholders to collect Thurs morning. Kids do 2 dishes, I’ll cook the rest. Looking fwd to family spend time together this long weekend.

Ya  Hope he’ll return home Wed/Thurs. Don’t stay inpatient longer than nec treatment.

DH always complain his father’s disobedience like kid, greedy & keep wanting to go for holidays in spite started dialysis to my ears. I told him best speak out to his own father to be responsible for his health owise MIL & entire family keep running to hospital every other day. Don’t bark at the wrong tree. More effective?
