Agree with Janet.

Don't be so upset by it. He didn't say it to you. Just quietly update your looks and start a healthier lifestyle. Partners influence each other. I started making time to exercise again because of DH's influence, and he started a skincare regime because of my influence. We don't criticize each other, just observing the improvement in each other is enough motivation. I will ask him for exercise tips and he will ask me to go and buy scrub with him. It is also a good example for our kids.
Agree with the 2 of them.. couples influence each other.. I see hubby actively taking care of his fitness and appearance.. I also become diligent in that aspect.. motivation works..

I also try to influence hubby to have a balanced diet.. instead of having fastfood..

I also started exercise regime when I saw how DH went for daily runs. At one time, I realized I was skipping dressing up and make up when we were out on weekends and I looked so tired compared to him. Now, I try to dress better and put on some make up and I feel so much better.

Now I saw that he SMS to his friend, that when we were teenagers, we both looked very young ,but now I look like his sister

can anyone tell me what he means by that ? I felt very upset. but i nvr told him that i saw the wassup message
What does his sister look like? Is she considerably older, fatter or whatever? Because my husband's youngest sister is slimmer than I am and looks as young or younger even though she is 3 yrs older than I am. I would be happy to hear that I look like her! (Maybe less happy if compared to the other sisters.) It also depends on the intent of the comment, and without knowing the context, it's hard to say. Maybe you can ask him about it in a non-threatening way? (unless you were looking at his phone without permission).

Here's the question, do you really know what attracted your husband to you? Your character? Physical? Men who are bothered about wife's physical appearance are those who are mentally weak. Why should they be slim, keeping fit whilst leaving their wifey behind?

I think we should take care of ourselves not because of our partner but our own satisfaction..

don't think chixchix's hubby meant she bears semblance to his biological sister, but he's just saying chixchix has transformed so much so that both hubby and wife now look like siblings 姐姐弟弟 in the negative sense (i.e. chixchix looks much older than he is)...

Must sibling mean older sibling? There must be a nuance there I didn't get! Actually, my husband and I are often told we look like siblings (but I look younger, of course!) and we put it down to having been married for a long, long time. I can't say I regard it as a compliment, but what to do?

I am shallower. Does not need to be a male model, but definitely please be groomed. Only children and babies can get away with the messy (but not dirty) look.

I do disagree. Again, not supermodel standards, but personal grooming is important. Big sized women too can look very good with the right grooming and clothes.
