Singing is a good way to entertain them, my aunt has dementia, but she can remember every word to all the second world war II songs.

I have always wanted to know if I qualify as senior citizen or not. I'm 52 years old. I would like to deny it but was in low morale after a 70yo auntie called me "uncle". Nowadays people always seem me as "old". Sigh.

well, I was called 'auntie' by a 60 year old auntie...don't know to faint or to cry.
my daughter was so upset because that 60 year plus auntie is clearly old enough to be my mother. my girl said, 'is she nuts? how can she call you an auntie when she is so much older than you?' I replied her, 'maybe she didn't wear her glasses.'

Dominos and draughts are usually a good activity to fill their time as a lot of the elderly would have played this during their spare time themselves.

I print large print Word Search, simple maths worksheets, colouring pages for my 80 years old dad to do.

Wow! That's an "A" for effort. But that's a good idea, in that way you're helping his brain to be active.
Just like kids who are learning for the first time.
