What do you feed a picky eater?

DD1 is a picky eater...almost vegetarian with exception of certain types of fish lightly fried, plus the once a week breaded chicken breasts.

No toufu, no eggs...and almost had to fight with her at lunch today to get that puny omelette into her.

Any ideas? I want to feed her lentils and beans but we personally don't even consume that in our daily diet...guess it's time to change!

my kids don fancy tofu too, but as they are allergic to dairy, i try to sneak some into the food they eat.. u can try some of these ideas..

- fried tau kwa, cut into small cubes, and mixed into fried rice, or stir fry with veges.

- mash tofu with prawns, fish and steam

- french toast, instead of bread? you can use the cookie cutters to cut up the shape into a flower, minnie mouse etc? can get cheap ones at Daiso. cut to smaller pieces so she won't mind trying. My mum used to spread my favourite jam on the bread then use the sandwich to make french toast. Yummy!!

- I even hide mash tofu in their porridge :P

- NTUC also sells those fish tofu cakes.

- my son loves grean bean soup, because I put jellies or huge sago in them.

Hopefully these ideas will be useful!!

Thanks for your contributions here, KSP's.

osaka, the bento moulds look too good to eat! Unfortunately, I have no problems with her polishing my carbs...maybe I'd take the hint from Mrsbongz and raeyes, I'll HIDE the doufu and the meat and the egg in her carb or stuff. Right now, I'm using egg as "binder" to fry her chicken fingers and/or fish! :|

simplejan, DD1 is coming 8 and looks not a nary past 7. We are feeding her multi vits, DHA and calcium :| she doesn't even take meatballs, let alone fishballs...so basically, it's plain dougan, not even toufu. Sigh!

 that she'd turnaround soon!

normally, i'll make sure my child finish the food given to her. it's a habit to keep... will not want her to develop to being picky in her food.
