Can I know how do you wash grapes? Do you wash one by one or just rinse the whole bunch under water?

I found that there is a white cast on the skin of the grapes, and it can be hard to wash that off. is it pesticide??

my bb likes grapes, other than producing more phelgm, what held me back from giving him more grapes is that there is pesticide on the skin.

if you're really particular, I believe there's this special product for washing vegetables and fruits on the market =)

that bit of pesticide wouldn't do anyone much harm, other than lausai only. Consider that a bit of beneficial colon-cleansing lol....in fact it's good for losing weight hehe kidding

You may want to consider giving him pesticide-free ones, or organic grapes if you're worried.

Alternatively, if he's into chewing stuff, the organic raisins (they come in green, red and black grapes variety too!) give the same nutrition value, but no need to wash

Hi, I wash them by bunches. If you are concerned, you can wash with those veggie wash or something. But you don't have to worry about the white substance on the surface of the grape skin. It is not residue of pesticides. It is a type of fungi which aid fermentation during wine making, harmless to our body.

For large grapes, I wash one by one with a soft brush. Also try to buy organic ones.

I don't think so simple.

I have learned from a radio programe, put a few drops of white vinegar in the water and soak the grapes in it for about 15 mins. Then rinse the graphes again with tap water.

Another method, don't know where I learn from. Put one teaspoon of salt in water and soak the grapes. Then I would keep rolling the graphes in the water and then rinse again with tap water.

I have heard the white white residue is harmless. The above methods can be used to wash other fruits too, eg. apples, pear.

Someone advise me to clean veg and fruits by rubbing with flour, then rinse off with water. Reason is pesticides are oil based, so the best way to remove is by powder.

That's what I do ... For apples, pears etc... I put salt on the palm of my hand and wash the fruit using the salt as an "exfoliator" ... Not sure if there's any science to it but at least i feel more assured
