Hi all,

I'm planning to hold a BBQ partee for my gonna be 1 year old dd.
May I know what brand of sauces are good for marinating
1) chicken wings
2) squid
3) prawns
4) satay?
Beside sausages, fishballs etc, what other interesting food can I grill?

Thanks a lot :)

sounds yummy...

for chicken wings, can try
1. Soya sauce with a little sugar and pepper
2. Honey with vinegar

I think squid and prawns don't need to marinate?
After cook add lime and sauces like bbq sauce, XO sauce

One BBQ party I attended, the host also BBQ Bell peppers and steak and corn. Mash mellow is good too for dessert.

hi before marinating u shld wash them clean with abit of salt and turmeric powder to eliminate meat odours for prawns and chicken wings. after thorough washing, for chicken u can use just add the heinz bbq sauce to marinate and leave it for some time. when bbq just brush it constantly with slightly salted butter and once chiken wings done brush it with honey. . for big pple usually i add some chillie powder in the marination for spiciness. prawns just devein it and cut away the feelers (is that what its calleda) and add butter while bbqing. u can have corn with butter wrapped in aluminium foil. marshmallows grilled. O u can have sliced pineapples, psrinkle brown sugar all around the cut pineapples and grill them. When eating the grilled pineapple can provide chocolate sauce to dip and eat. heavenly treat esp for kids.

Chix wings - soya sauce, sesame oil, ginger and shallot juice, a bit of pepper. Can add a bit of oyster sauce as well.

For prawns - either just a bit of salt or can marinate with fresh crushed black pepper corns and crushed garlic

Sotong - try marinate with asam paste, a bit of salt and sugar.

An old simple BBQ recipe from a fren. A hit while I was at her BBQ party many years ago. Hope I remember it well. Here goes:

a) Put prawns (no shell), white sotong , shitake mushroom, bell pepper into individual satay stick (same type in one stick)
b) Mix bread crumbs (buy from Four leaves), chopped garlic, salt and olive oil together.
c) Then coat on (a)
d) BBQ

Hahah. After seeing the malay kueh thread, I made the abok sago on Sunday. Now still got some leftovers.
