My suggestion or rather what I'm using:-

1. Rice cooker - that allows me to have the option to cook rice/porridge with a timer. Alternatively, can use the normal one but buy a timer gadget instead. I preset it in the morning and it will cook by the time I reach home.

2. I usually cook soup. I either use slow cooker, thermal pot or normal pot and reheat when I reach home. Others, I will cook when I reach home usually stir-fry vegs or grill chicken wings in my oven or steam dishes - chicken/fish/eggs. Sometimes, I will buy charsiew/roast meat as additional dishes

Cheers,
