Hi there, am running out of ideas...

#1 is a picky eater (whole year of full day K2 <last> ate kaya bread with cookie cutter design and strawberry milk)

This year slightly better - she brings food for recess 4 times a week - bring biscuit/sandwich with other fillings/baby croissants etc.

She's almost a vegetarian - long story, mebbe another thread

#2 that whole bit can't satisfy her hunger...come home at 4pm and ask for MORE FOOD...but I need to pack her lunch in the morning at 8am so food needs to keep well.

Any ideas please? TIA!

I made sushi and pasta before, which she gobbled up happily, as compared to my "rice with veg and meat" dishes that she would pick at. DH will cook fried rice occasionally which DD likes too. We seldom give her bread to bring for recess as she already eats that for breakfast and can get that easily at school. The key thing is to cook stuff that will still taste good/okay when cooled to room temperature and do NOT contain soups or watery sauces/gravies.

ADD: I haven't cooked for quite a while due to increasingly busy schedule and DD hasn't asked too so I think she's less picky about school food.

We usually pack lunchpack every other day. Varieties of sushi, sandwiches, fired rice, omelette, cake, pancake whatever. She gets to choose what she prefers.

Hi,

School opening again....

My worry : is the food still okay for my DS to eat at 330pm recess time? as I prepared it at 5am plus... :?

Somehow worry as that day I packed noodles from canteen at about 7am morning, eat it for lunch, found it has some funny smelly (spoiled)

3:30pm?

I hope it's for afternoon tea or snack; and not lunch.

If it is afternoon tea or snack, wouldn't a bread, pastry or cookies be suffice? :?

after the 1st week, I did not bother to pack anything for DD for her recess. At times if I bake some goodies, she will ask to bring for recess but other then that, she is happy buying her own snacks. Even on CCA days, she will get her own lunch from the canteen. At times she will eat the same thing for lunch and for tea. Kids, when they like something, they can eat it for every meal, then 1 week later, they will not even touch that same food much less eat it.

fussymummy,

your DS is very 懂事 knows how to save already...
i also have little ideas what is good home-made choice for my DS...
he seemed to prefer food at canteen and there was a time he told me food / snack sold in canteen was cheaper...
