To answer your magicpiglet, I'm a FTWM and the schedule is as follows:

(1) My mum feeds my kids by 5.30 - 6pm (my kids take the school bus home);

(2) Got a helper so she'd cook (thankfully!).

(3) Kids TRY to go to sleep by 9.30 pm coz bus comes to pick them up at 8.00am. Milk feed before sleeping; and upon waking   coz it's too early to feed them breakfast.

Hi,

I fetch my gals at 620pm. On the way home they are already snacking since they are always hungry when I pick them up. Dinner is at 645pm. We used to do tingkat but now we just tapao everyday.

Bedtime routine starts at about 9pm - 930pm. Depending on whether they have night class or not. Normally takes 30 - 45min (sometimes more :x ) before they :snooze:

Yes, definitely a milk feed every night before sleep. And when they wake up in the morning too..

Hi,

Here's my schedule...
1x / wk - go mil place for dinner
2x / wk - mum will cook n bring down ... something like tingkat but home cooked :D
2x / wk - cook on our own

The most siong days will be the ones that i hv to cook.. so this is a typical schedule. If mum brings food tat day, then its abt 0.5hr earlier for dinner.

615 -630pm - Pick up kids from CC
640pm - reach home & bathe for kids
655pm - start preparing dinner. Usually rice is oredi cooked in timer cooker + soup oredi prepared in the morning. So evening only stir fry veg & oven bake either fish / meat.
730pm - setup & take dinner while feeding the kids
8- 815pm - Finish dinner & start wash up
815 - 9pm - Wash up / tidy up, etc
- children play / watch tv
9 - 945 - Read books / write etc
945 - 10 - Family gaming time - eg UNO
10 - drink milk, get ready :snooze: to sleep

Earliest knockout time is 1030.. latest.. 1130 :x

Am trying to get them to bed earlier... but they are usually so excited to yak/share abt their day... cant bear to deprive them time to talk before sleeping... Wake time is abt 715 -730am.

7.00pm - Ds1 practise piano
7.15-8.00pm Usually eat tabao dinner (cook only when not too tired) and the 2 kids watch okto
During this timing, dh will pack CC bag, boil water, take down dry clothings

8.00pm : Bathe the other 2 kids.
8.15pm - 8.30pm: Ds1 revise tingxie and spelling, Ds2 - practise writing
8.30pm - 9.00pm : Kids will play - Lego, DSLite, watch TV etc while drinking milk. We will take turn to bathe.

9.30pm : Lights off for DS1 & DS2

My DD is in P1 this year so she goes to After Sch Care at her old childcare. My mom picks her up at 530 and gives her dinner. Me and/or DH pick her up at MRT station at about 7. We may run errands before heading home. After reaching home, DD goes to shower and change while we do our chores, eat dinner etc. Then, we supervise DD while she does her homework/music theory/piano practice/tingxie/spelling, etc. This is followed by her choice of free time which may be to watch TV/play PC games/read books/draw/write, etc. Hopefully, by 10, she'll have brushed her teeth and be ready for stories and bed. She usually doesn't nap/have enough time for nap in the afternoon so she falls asleep pretty soon after getting into bed.

On Fridays and eves of public holidays, sometimes, DH may be able to leave work early and he'd try to pick her up from the childcare centre instead of my mom. Then, I'll try to leave work punctually to meet them for dinner and maybe some entertainment after that like a movie or a visit to the library or arcade.

ADD: DD gets a half-cup of milk in the morning at breakfast and at least another cup later in the evening when we get home unless she is sick/has phlegm. In the evening when her appetite is better and she is more awake, she pours the fresh milk herself.

My schedule:
reach home around 6pm. Cook dinner.
6.30 to 6.45 : pick DS up from cc (6 mins walk from home)
7.00 to 7.20: shower DS
by 7.30: dinner wif DS, if DH is home, we dine together
8.00: wash-up by DH and I unpack/pack DS bag and do laundry. DS's cartoon time
8.30 to 9.15: family play time/reading or just chit-chat
9.15 to 9.30: DS's milk time. If he ate lots for dinner then may postphone to after 9.30
After milk, brush teeth and pray.
Lights off by 9.45 to 10. He normally takes about 15 to 30 mins to fall asleep. There are a few times where he will hold on till DH comes home (fter 11) to fall asleep.

I cook at least 3 days out of the 5 weekdays. Weekends are more flexi as most times will hv some kind of outings or meals with friends/family.
The days I don't cook will be sandwich or leftovers nights. The dinners I cook are often 1 dish meals like Assam Fish, Grilled chicken/fish with salad and mash potatoes/pumpkin, pasta casserole, baked rice, "claypot" rice cooked in rice cooker. noodles with char siew& veg, stew chicken with veg & mushrooms, rendang, steam tofu with eggs and veg, etc.
As you may notice, theres no soup, cos DH don't drink soup unless its creamy style. If I cook spicy food, I will steam eggs or minced meat dishes for DS. The trick is to prep the meats and bring it out to thaw (in the fridge) b4 going to work. Some prep work that I do each weekend:
- Minced meat, I will marinate it and packed them in individual cook portions and freeze them.
- Meats like chicken/ pork/beef, I will cut them up and marinate them. After which I will pack into individual cook portions.
- Sauces: I do prepare/premix and store common use sauces like curry paste, assam paste, some chutney, salad dressing, pasta sauces.

I do plan menu for each week during the weekend to save time thinking about what to cook and also save prep time.
