Hubby bought a bottle of ordinary white wine last week to cook mussels.

U can use it to cook clams or mussels only(without pasta).Wash clams/mussels,put it in aluminium foil, then add lemongrass,ginger,salt/pepper wrap n steam.

Can use the wine to cook spaghetti with clam in white sauce(vongole).Fry garlic, add wine, liquid from clams.Add clams->spaghetti->parsley+salt+pepper

We wont be doing the mussels recipe anymore. On 2 occasions, he did not feel too well (like indigestion) after eating them. Not sure what the cause is.

How does it taste like?

It tastes like cheesy gooey rice - my whole family loves it whenever I make it, cos we love cheese! If u are adventourous u can have different variations, like adding seafood or pumpkin etc.

Can cook coq au vin. Basically it's chicken stew in white wine. My family favourite.

Dont have to use a a lot - maybe 3/4 - 1 cup (I use the ikea kids cup for measure) of white wine. Sometimes I cook the chicken over the stove. Other times, I roast the chicken in white wine in the oven.

1/2 a bottle can go a long way.
