i've special way to steam without 2 tier or 3 tier.

I bot a deep 28cm wok, then i looked n bot a high cover to match with the wok.

I can put/stack 3 dishes inside,by separating each plate wf bigger plate.

Easier to take out the dishes n clean up after steaming.

As there are different types of steamers, I need to check with mil which type she prefers. I want to get a steamer so that her food can be steamed. Currently, I'm using a wok to steam dishes.

Anyone using steamers from Tefal, Phillips, Tecno or EuropAce? Please advise.

I think most electric steamers work in the same way. Another brand U-like has a few tiers, but diameter not very big, saw it at Tangs some years ago. OG also hv this.

What is the portion of the dish u can thinking of? If small plates, then the above choices r ok. If the portion size is big, maybe can't fix into these steamers.

Then the other choice is the traditional steaming tall pots available at neighborhood pots n pans shops, like the one at Fajar, which r usu. made in China. If u hv time, can go to Sia Huat to hunt for better quality ones.

i hv been using tefal steamer for a long time. it is an indispensible item in my kitchen. i like tefal because of its oval shape . it fits my plate for steaming fish nicely. i got the 3tier type. you can actually remove the centre dividing plate to fit a big chicken if need to. however, i use mostly single tier n keep the rest as spare parts. steaming a small whole chicken takes abt 30 min, to give you an idea. cleaning is very easy. just need to remember to top up the water before use.

I think we will probably buy electric steamer. Every meal I need 3 steamed dishes for 2-3 people. My intention is to go over to prepare lunch and soup for mil every weekday. I prefer her to have organic food and steamed dishes. No processed food which contain sodium nitrite.
