On Knifes

Last time there is a thread on pans (happycall).. Maybe we can talk about knifes also?
Any recommendations for a good long lasting and sharp knifes for kitchen uses.
Recently seems that the rose knife is very hot.. Also from korea..
So far, based on some brief research, there seems to be 3 version/variant.
1. Originate from Korea, related to some german technology or things like that. Guess this is the version that was shown on TV.
Green handle, design is a stalk of rose on the blade.
2. Originate from Korea.
Black handle with dots for better grip. Roses on blade.
3. Originate from China. Appears to be imitation of (1).
Can be bought for ~$10 at roadside stalls.
Anyone got any experience with the rose knifes?
What knife do you use and are they durable/sharp/lasting?
Any recommendations?
