Love the Tom Kha Talay (Coconut soup with seafood ). It has different spices in the creamy coconut base. My next favourite is Prawn Paste Cake - real authentic
and Gai Tor Ga Thiam ( Fried chicken with garlic ).
I love a good Tom yam soup, pineapple rice, Thai curry, mango with glutinous rice.
Recently just discovered this stall at food republic city square mall. Tom yam soup is yummy and best part is I don't feel thirsty after drinking it.
Try to go before lunch hour...avoid lunch time crowd.
Ok will chk it out next time I m there.

Be prepared to queue.
Which level is it at Heartland Mall?
Nakhon Kitchen is at 212 Hougang Street 21
Singapore 530212, behind the bowling place at Hougang.

For me, I prefer the Thai food at Sakon Thai located at Blk 152 Serangoon North Ave 1 #01-304 Singapore 550152. There is another branch Sakon Thai at 77 Jalan Wangi Singapore 349388.

The Sakon Thai at Serangoon North serves authentic Thai food at reasonable rates. Yummy!!!
My parents stay in Butterfly Ave which we also patronise Sakon Thai at Jln Wangi. Though the price is reasonable, I find the prawn paste cake not appetizing enough. Lack of prawns to bring out the taste.

In the 80s, my parents would bring us to Chao Phraya Thai Restaurant in AMKcentral located above Jack's Place. Simply loved the food and the grilled lobster was fantastic. Thai deep fried sotong was well battered and tom yam soup a must. The restaurant has since closed down. Wondered if any of u visited this restaurant before.

I find the dishes in Nakon Kitchen n Sakon Thai are very small portions n its not enuf for my family of 4. So if ended up ordering more, it becomes very ex n not worth eating there.

So we don't patronise them anymore.

Hi Janet, I recalled you are putting up around Upper Bt Timah area. You can drop by Junction 10 as Porn has an outlet there too.

Just tried Mata Thai restaurant in Bishan Central (Blk 508) during Mother's Day.

Reasonable pricing w/o GST and service charge. For a table of 10, we spent less than $200. Food serving is generous.

Value for money.

I always love a good tom yum soup. But only if I do not have down cups of water after that.

Talking about mata Thai and tom yam soup. Passed by mata Thai today and noted a small piece of notice pasted on one of the pillars. I managed to take a look as I walked past - ooh.... Got Tom yam soup with thick bee hoon! Yumz..... One of these days :rubhands:
