Gai Thod Med mamuang - stir fried chicken with cashews
Pad nam man hoy Nua - stir fried beef in oyster sauce
Tom Yung Goon - spicy sour shrimp soup
Kao pad kung or kao pad gai - fried rice shrimp or chicken
Thinking about all this food made me hungry :)

Thai food is truly one of the world's 'great' cuisines. There are a vast number of traditional Thai dishes - far too many to mention here - however it might be safe to say that typical thai ingredients that impart the usual flavours people associate with thai food would include things like fish sauce, chilli, lemongrass, shrimp paste, lime, coconut milk, peanuts. Probably the best known thai dish (at least to westerners) would be Pad Thai - which means 'Thai style noodles' - this might be a good dish to start with to introduce yourself to Thai food - it has a good combination of classic flavours and is not really spicy. Or if you wanted to try and make something yourself that it very easy then look up a recipe for a Thai Chilli Basil Stir Fry - very easy to make and you won't need lots of ingredients.

My favourite is Stir Fry Basil With Omelette and I usually order online from Sarima, she from Thailand and selling her home-cooked Thai food online!
