I like to try out new cafes.

The last time, I went to Chockfull of Beans located at Changi.

I thought the breakfast set that we ordered was good. It was enough for me and DH to share.

It can get very crowded and you have to queue to get a place.

The family enjoyed the food and service was good.

Recently, DH and I tried this place out for tea.

http://blanketsandcoffee.blogspot.sg/20 ... ds-at.html

Its a small cafe that specializes in orders of cakes. This cafe only serves cakes and tarts and coffee (Nespresso).

We tried and fell in love with the banana and peanut butter cake. It is a slice of banana cake with peanut butter cream on top and in between. We liked it cuz the cake was not oily and the cream was not cloyingly sweet.

For the younger one, we ordered the strawberry shortcake which he walloped, sans the strawberry. If you have read the above blog, whose review I read before visiting the cafe, it mentioned that the signature cake is the lychee martini. Its similar to the shortcake, hence we didn't try it out.

My DH was so smitten that he ended with the dark chocolate tart. I took a bite from it and it was very good. The pastry base was neither hard nor very sweet. In fact, it was lightly flaky and kinda melted in my mouth.

Hope to read sharings of cafe visits by fellow members in this thread!

Thanks for starting this thread, AB.

Love to go to cafes for marathon chit chat sessions with friends. If absolutely no idea where to go, we normally just fall back on our trusty TCC.

Never been to S.Korea b4, but based on armchair travelling, have seen how nice most of their cafes are. Wonder whether it's really like tt in real life, or just exist only in reel life?
