CHIJ (Katong) Primary

There's nothing quite like being able to discuss issues and network with other parents with children in the same school as yours. Individual Schools' Official Parent Support Groups are welcome to come in and help out the incoming groups of parents.

Hi EileenQ

According to MOE, every primary school will have student care services by 2020. In fact, we just received a survey form from the school enquiring about our interest in enrolling in one though there was no indication when it will be operational nor details about the cost , operator and programme. You may want to reach out to the school to find out more.

Hi,

There isn't any fun fair / carnival nor open house that I know of. Are you thinking of enrolling your daughter for Y2020?

Hi there, could I find out when the P1 Orientation for the following year's intake usually takes place? My work requires me to plan my schedule and project my leave way in advance hence the information would be most useful as we are also hoping to take a family holiday at the end of the year.

Secondly, could I find out what is the first day procedure for KC? What are parents allowed/not allowed to do? Is there a buddy system to help the girls? Trying to decide if I need to take leave or not.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Orientation Day is usually the last school day of the year before your girl's enrolled year. So eg of your girl is enrolled for yr 2021, her orientation is the last school day of Term 4 of 2020. It's usually a half/full day affair, including buying books and uniforms etc. which if there are long queues may stretch out to a full day. 1st day of school is always 2 Jan. Yes they have buddies and the P1 teachers are awesome so you really don't have to hang about too much. That is definitely only half day, if even that. Welcome and good luck!
