Catholic High (Primary)

There's nothing quite like being able to discuss issues and network with other parents with children in the same school as yours. Individual Schools' Official Parent Support Groups are welcome to come in and help out the incoming groups of parents.

My friend is concerned about her P4 DS who will be taking PSLE in 2021. I told her CHS had very good PSLE results in Maths & Science during my DS time so her DS should be fine as long as he keeps up his standard in P5 next year. But she said parents with elder siblings shared that the school has reduced challenging components for Maths and Science. She is worried that this would affect CHS PSLE performance.

Any parents take pics of the PSLE Performance statistics during the PSLE Release Day last month so that I can share with my friend? Can pm me instead of replying here.

:thankyou:
math classes should be banded. I am sure students from the high ability banding classes you will still expose to more challenging math.

Hi,

Seems that CHS no longer accepts PV from an earlier post by iFirefly. Do call the school to check. All the best!

@ Catt..
I think CHS Pri has done away with PV. You may wanna call the school to confirm.

My ds will be going to P1 next year. I would like to check with current parents if there is any after school care in the school or around the area? Thank you!

Not sure about school care as my DS already in P6 and P4. That time dont have so we put them in a nearby after school care that provide pick up after sch, lunch and tuition, both school and extra. Quite expensive but my opinion is that we have family time for evening and weekends.

There is school-based SC. You may check with the school admin.

Hello! Anyone’s kid entering P1 next year?

May I ask the experienced parents on the expectations are for the boys?

How well do they need to read/count/speak mandarin?

I was told by friends that every school is different. I don’t need him to top the class, just average grades will do.

Personal experiance after all 3 DS went through is that P1 is quite honeymoon period. Not sure what other parents think.

The school resources given are sufficient and vast majority of the P1 and P2 boys do well.

For the handful that needs help, they will be pulled out during the lesson (eg English or Maths) to attend LSP (Learning Support Programme). LSP teachers are trained to provide help for these students in small groups.

All the best to your boy.
