Catholic High (Primary)

There's nothing quite like being able to discuss issues and network with other parents with children in the same school as yours. Individual Schools' Official Parent Support Groups are welcome to come in and help out the incoming groups of parents.

Pinkyoshi:
We got in via phase 2C (also moved to a house next to CHS).
During my DS1, balloting ratio was quite good, 2/3 chance (that time it was 60+ boys balloting for 40+ places).
Then DS2&DS3 tag onto DS1 & got in via Phase 1.
By DS3 's year, balloting ratio was around 1/7 !!
The following year even worse: single digit vacancies left for phases 2B & 2C.
But now MOE new rule says need to reserve vacancies for Phase 2B & 2C, so you have better chance now :)

Oh ya, another new rule to your advantage:
During my DS1 's balloting, Singaporean & PR all have equal chance.
Now I think all vacancies to be filled by Singaporean 1st.

Thanks for all your sharings. Very tempted to try phase 2c but worried that i will end up in a school not of my choice.

Still thinking if I should try KCP instead as it may stand a higher chance.

If you want to try KCP, also need to stay within 1km or are you within 1km of both schools? That would be the best then you can monitor your chances during registration time.

Thanks for helpful input.
I stay within 1 km of both CHS and KCP. Most likely will try Phase 2B for CHS (we are Catholics) and 2C for KCP.
Hopefully they do give priority to Singaporeans.

Can anyone advise when do supplementary classes start for CHS boys? P1 already start or only p5/p6? And typically how often in a week?

P1 in general don't need to stay back unless the kid decides to take up CCA.
There is CCA bus at 4.30pm sending boys to all over SG, at prices start from $4 onwards.

I know some of his fren had to stay back during P4 for supp class when teacher found the kids are weak in certain subj.
