Rulang Primary

There's nothing quite like being able to discuss issues and network with other parents with children in the same school as yours. Individual Schools' Official Parent Support Groups are welcome to come in and help out the incoming groups of parents.

My son will be in Rulang next yr. Any parents whose children are already there to share their experiences?

Some of their Teacher is quite fierce. So get your kiddo mentally prepared.
I don't really see too much homeworks from my son.
But you'll be surprised they undergo those impromtu mini test in class.
You will know it when they start to bring back the papers for your signature.

How to get the kid mentally prepared? I hope the teachers are firm and not just scold and scream over nothing or small things.

What abt the sch's environment and culture? Is it very chinese?

My son is very 'kantang' one. He actually prefers to go ACS (which I think he will fit super well, but I think the distance is just tooo far and I didn't like him to be mixing with the 'atas' kids and start comparing family wealth. )

My kiddo's form teacher is like BMT instructors.
Discipline is key emphasize. Since I also believe in iron wrist policy, it suits me pretty well.

Environment is well balanced. Definitely not too chinese.

Academic wise, Rulang's test subject and standard is pretty ok.
Their math's SA1 has tricky questions to really filter out those star kids.

Formalities? Buy some gifts ready for your kids form teacher....joking lar.

There will be orientation day whereby your kiddo will be with his/her class for 30mins. Parents will be in the hall listening to the principle.
Then you will be ushed around to buy books, uniform, book school bus.

Parents will be allowed to visit the school for the first 3 days during recess
time. They have this buddy system + personal guide from P6 students during their recess time.

Today my kiddo said the school conducted a test called "MOE" test...
60 questions in 30 mins, all logic questions, on puzzles, lines, etc.

Strange....didn't know P1 has such test...

Anyone know what is that for?

There has been some reports of that happening recently, but no clear indication about what the test is all about so far.
