Peiying Primary

There's nothing quite like being able to discuss issues and network with other parents with children in the same school as yours. Individual Schools' Official Parent Support Groups are welcome to come in and help out the incoming groups of parents.

Anyone joining Peiying's Pri 1 in 2010?

Postby Mommy of Gems » Tue Nov 03, 2009 12:08 am

My gal will be in Peiying next year, orientation on 20 Nov. Excited and worried at the same time, it's the beginning of her min 15 yrs of school life till her uni. Obviously, Peiying wasn't my choice but all the good schools near my home are not even applicable for balloting since I am the >1km but <2km group in phase 2C. Sad ... but consoling that after visiting all the schools near Yishun area, Peiying being the nearest to my home looks most promising, the kids in the school looked happy and behaved well, I am impressed by the kids initiative by asking me if I need help and they guided me to the admin office. The HOD introduced himself and tell me that the school emphasizes on happy kids while they persue their education, and he got me, somehow, I think that's important. I do not want my girl to feel negative about education. Okay, for any parents whose kids are going Peiying next year, feel free to share our experience and thoughs here. We can catch up during the orientation session. My gal is allocated to class 1/6, I hope they do not practise class ranking as I do not think it's fair as no pre-entry test is given before they decide to put her in that class ... *sigh* I am worried but staying positive and hoping for the best to my gal's 1st step to the realistic world of singapore educational system.

Hi,

I'm considering Peiying as the pri sch for my girl when she turns 7. Is this sch ok? Any good or adverse experiences to share? Thanks :)

Hi Mommy of Gems

My son is in Peiying too and I think in the same class as your daughter.

Still getting used to waking up at 6.15 am to get him ready for school... so tiring.

Looks like this thread is not active at all. But hope can get some reply here.
Heard that this year no vacancy at PeiYing for P1 after Phase 2C? is it true?
