School of Science and Technology

Having survived PSLE. we still need to network with other parents with kids in the same Secondary school. While giving our teenagers their own space, we can update each other about the school.

SST is still an O level school.
Meaning the student will still be required to sit for O level at the end of Year 4
What is different is for upper secondary combo, they took out literature and replace with one of the applied subjects to make it to 8 or 9 subjects.
So those who are not strong in literature this would be an advantage.

Has there been any update regarding a 6-year IP/through train program in SST? I thought there were some preliminary discussions on it?

How is that different? Most schools would offer various subject combinations that don’t include literature as part of their 8 or 9 subjects.

6-year Programme to A Level? Won’t happen. Don’t wait for it. That’s not what the SST was designed for.

Notwithstanding, they have already launched a “through train programme” towards a STEM based diploma in NP end last year.

Applied subjects as a replacement that stem students are likely to have the aptitude in learning.. Like my eldest son took computing, it was a bliss for him. FOr other schools, it will likely to be replaced with another humanities subject, SST needs to do just one.

Yah. It will be a Integrated Diploma Programme and probably not the IP that zac’s mum may be thinking about.

Dear parents,

I came across sharing by an ex students that discipline at SST is very lax. Do you think so? Appreciate some sharing on the discipline in SST.
Thanks!
