Yishun Town Secondary School

Having survived PSLE. we still need to network with other parents with kids in the same Secondary school. While giving our teenagers their own space, we can update each other about the school.

RE Swiss Cottage SS

188 is one of the buses - stops at Opposite Home Team NS (which is back gate of Swiss Cottage SS).

use the street directory http://www.streetdirectory.com/ to navigate and the smrt eguide http://www.smrtbuses.com.sg/ebusguide/ to find out more buses.

 There is a better way. :) Try this:

CCK Interchange to Yishun Town Sec:
http://www.gothere.sg/directions#choa%2 ... y%20school

CCK Interchange to Swiss Cottage
http://www.gothere.sg/directions#choa%2 ... y%20school

Go try it - gothere.sg - you can even enter the origin as your home address.

Another one you can try is http://www.transitlink.com.sg/.
Click on Eguide on the top bar, then Public Transport Journey Planner (PTJP) on the left.

I attended the open house at Yishun Town Secondary School on Sat (Nov 20) with my husband and my daughter. It was a fruitful experience despite the heavy downpour in the afternoon.

It seems the school has made tremendous achievement over the years. This year, YTSS won Lee Hsien Loong Award for Innovations in the Normal Course 2010 for the creative and pioneering programmes that are specially designed for the Normal Course students. In addition, one of YTSS Secondary 4 Normal Technical students has won two special awards this year - the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Outstanding Normal Course Students and the Lee Kuan Yew Award for All-Round Excellence. This is an outstanding achievement for the school as this is the first time that a student has achieved two special awards in the same year.

If one does not want to look beyond Yishun area, this is one of the best schools to consider as I feel. Any parents who have children in this school to share their views and thoughts?

Cheers!

We too attended the Open house on Saturday. We also had opportunity to mix with rest of the Sec 1 aspirants ;> I was surprised to see students & their parents from most of the Primary schools in the North. I was very impressed with the CCAs. Yishun Town seems to be No1 among the secondary schools @ North.
For CCAs both students from Express, Normal & Normal (technical) all would be grouped together. There has been previous incidents of "ragging" & bullying....My main worry is about safety of our children.

Hi PSLEmom, it's good to hear someone from this forum attended the open house that day, and our paths may cross.

Care to share about the past incidents you heard on "ragging" and bullying? Thank you.

Cheers!

I went to their open house last yr. My girl & I were impressed with their auditorium, canteen food & uniform.

I think for CCAs, all schs don't separate express, NA & NT students.
