NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)

Having survived PSLE. we still need to network with other parents with kids in the same Secondary school. While giving our teenagers their own space, we can update each other about the school.

Hi, my son is in the chess club. Can I check with anyone who knows, whether the regular meetings for chess club are on Mondays or Fridays? Got a bit of scheduling headache with outside commitments on a Friday. Also, will it be twice a week if he gets to play for the school and a tournament is coming up? He's only into international chess and not Chinese chess. Thanks, anyone who can help.

For this year, compulsory attendance for Chess CCA is on Monday. Friday is optional.

Prior to the twice-a-year competitions, the students might be requested to attend twice a week training for 2-4 weeks.

They will try to send most of the Chess Club members to the tournaments as there is no cap on the number of participants.

This is what I gathered from my DC from the past years' participation
