NEED TO HOST A 17-YR OLD GIRL FROM GERMANY

My company has this exchange program to bring a child from Germany to stay with us for 2 weeks. Unfortunately German summer holiday is in July and in July my JC girl is in school and cannot entertain her. Her father and I thought it would be a good idea if they go to school together so that she can get to know the school system and culture in Singapore. Moreover she can make some friends as well. But my girl's school is not keen to host her and I am stuck. I cannot take 2 weeks leave to accompany her; and moreover this is not an idea of an exchange program. Anyone or maybe some child from NJC who takes german as 2nd language can approach the school to let her mingle around for 2 weeks. I am prepared to pay for her expenses.
SOS. I wanted the girl to have so much fun when in Singapore.

You should try to email MOE's LC at Bishan for help.

They can help by asking students who are taking German at their centre to see if anyone is willing to host the girl.

I know of people from the German European school. I think they might be willing to host such a student for the late summer.

Dear Ms Kaydenbrown, I am still unable to find a host or buddy for this german girl coming to Singapore from 1st-14th July. I have written to JCs, Nanyang Poly, the German Embassy, MOE language centre in Bishan and my efforts are still futile. Can you email me - people who can host Chiara Sass for a week or two? We can alternate an arrangement. Her father wishes that she goes to school with a buddy and she can make friends and know more about the school system. Surely it is not too hard - unless there are MOE guidelines and compliances which I do not know about. It is kind of embarassing that the German headmaster can host my daugher over there and here in Singapore the JC principal is not open to welcoming an foreign child who desperately wants to be in school with a buddy.
