Material Engineering Course in NTU

My DD got into Material engineering course. Apperently it seems , there are very few in-take in this course .
She has triple science & has apptitude for Physics... But i hear Employers are not willing to take Girls when they Graduate....
is it true? Any update... We have SMU admission as well in ..Is it adviceable to not to go in Material engineering
