Is it common to get Us for JC 1 mid term exam?

Hi , my DS did fairly ok for her "o" and is in a mid-tier good JC. I understand that it is not uncommon for JC 1s to get S and Us for mid-term? Any good Chem teachers to recommend?

It is uncommon for good students, but it is very common for those slow learners.

Well if you have a strong foundation at the secondary level, you should do alright at JC. However, if you have not taken the subject before say Econs, you may need to spend more time on it to understand the subject and the techniques for answering the questions. To answer your question, if your child is academically strong, he/she should be getting A,B or ar most C.

If your child has a good foundation in secondary schools, she shouldn't be getting Us for JC mid-term. Maybe you would like to spend some time talking to her about it and find out how do the rest of the class do.
