Risky?

Hi all! I just want to get opinions on a dilemma I am facing right now. Recently after the O level results were released (9 jan 2012), I found out that I obtained a raw sscore of 12 (10 after deducting cca bonus points). I want to apply for Meridian Junior College's science stream, but I missed the cut of point by 1. I'm still thinking of placing mjc as my top choice, but am unsure if that is a wise choice or not. I took triple pure sciences and A maths in O levels. I have an A2 in all my subjects except chinese (B3). Any help on this?

you should put it as your first choice and then try to appeal in to the sci stream after you're accepted. otherwise you can consider other schools?

Yes I'm planning to do that. I'll consider tampines junior college as my 2nd choice.

Hi!I also got exactly the same raw score as you,L1R5=12,but the difference is I have 4 bonus points(cca+hcl),so my nett aggregate is 8 points.I've also put MJC as my frist choice and I also want to go to science stream. The cut-off for mjc science is 9 and I know that you miss the cut-off by 1 point. But don't worry,as long as you put mjc science as your first choice,I think you can still stand a chance to enter,as I've went to the open house and the principal suggested those who missed the cut-off by 2 points and below to try,as no one knows whether the cut-off point will change for this year. And I suggest that if you don't manage to get in,you can appeal, provided if you're very strong in mjc's niche ccas.

Anyway,I think that you are a very good student, and I do realise you took triple science and almost all the subjects you got A.So i think you're very well balanced so you can consider taking arts too since your humans sunject is good too and mjc's arts course cut-off is 10.And just to let you know,I got 5As and 2 Bs(not very balanced) and I took combined science(A1)...So i think I will be disadvantaged in the science course....
